Confessions Of A Beach Bum
// I volunteered at Field Day on Monday, at first I was a little disappointed to end up at the art station but then I realized it came with a tent and no kids that were screaming and running around. Art tent will be mine every year!
// My right index and middle fingers hurt badly when I try to open lids on jugs and bottles. This hasn't always, why does getting old suck?
// Every night I sit in my big reading chair watching the sunset and dreaming of the day 7 days from now when I can chase them because my kid will have summer bedtime. Summer bedtime is the point in the day where I can't take anymore and it's bedtime or bust.
// At Field Day we got to listen to Kidz Bop all day, which leads me to my next confession. I thought hearing a bunch of inmates singing "Party Up" while they watched TV was weird. How about a bunch of 6 year-olds singing "See You Again" while they work on their art projects?
// It annoys me a new book app but it's only for iPhone so I can't download it. Android users are book lovers too!
// When we adopted our dog in January K named her Marina, more times than not I call her Beans. She answers to either.
// I have to help my kid learn an age appropriate joke for Red Nose day, good thing I have Google because I don't know any age appropriate jokes.
// Wanting something really badly makes me work harder for it.
What are you confessing this week?

I wish I could remember the which popular pop song my nephews class sang at Kindergarten graduation Monday. It is so weird! Sounds like you won with that art tent, embrace the quiet! Getting old is for the birds. I am lucky I can even open jars anymore. What gives?
ReplyDeleteArt tent for the win!! I am constantly annoyed that apps I want are iPhone only... us Android people have rights!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteLol the image of a bunch of 6 year olds singing See You Again is cracking me up. Probably because I'm just being over imaginative but I'm cracking myself up over here.
ReplyDeleteOh man kidz bop, that's rough! I can't even handle the commercials! And I love coming up with nicknames for my dogs, they have like 10 each haha
ReplyDeleteCalling your dog "Beans" made me laugh because my cat Astro also responds to "Booger". It was a little bit of a joke. After seeing this wacky couple on an Animal Planet show who have a pet bison that the lady called "Sugar Booger", I started to call Astro "my little sugar booger"...which got shortened to "booger". If I call him "booger", he responds. If anyone else does, he ignores them. It's our thang.
ReplyDeleteart tent sounds awesome. and that sucks about the app only being on iphone, that's not fair! KC and I sometimes play a game where we call our cats anything, as long as we say it in the same sing songy voice, they will respond. except for Penny, she knows her name and she will not look at you unless you say it! if she hears you saying it, she comes running. like the other day we were talking about rolling spare change and KC said how many pennies do we have? and she came running. so cute.
ReplyDeleteI laughed at your comment about not knowing age-appropriate jokes. Luke responds to anything you call him as long as you say it in an excited manner. We actually tested the name thing on my sister's dog shortly after they got him. Her husband was showing off that he knew his name, and then we said, "But is it his name or your tone of voice that he's responding to?" So he called, "Cheese!" and Maverick came running. For a while I was calling Toast "poodle" (Toaster Strudel -> Toaster Poodle -> Poodle) but I'm making an effort to not go too crazy with the pet names because I think the dogs will respond better to their actual names.
