Sea La Vie - 5/27

Time to talk about all the things that have been going on by the sea this week!

// Sunday we finally made it to the beach, in our swimsuits, without beach gear! I finished The Ocean At The End Of The Lane while I was there. When I got home I moved back to Mr. Mercedes which I determined to finish this time although I still haven't hit the thing that makes it a good Stephen Kind novel yet. Sweetbitter and The Assistants are waiting for me at the library.

// I had Monday off again, this time, to volunteer at K's school for field day. It was so good to be outside of my house and away from my desk on a Monday. K had a good time and since field day ended at 11:30 I got to relax and do nothing the rest of the afternoon.

// I fired someone on Tuesday, it was my first termination after being a manager for several years.

// As the holiday weekend gets closer I'm watching the tropics instead of planning my beach weekend. It looks like the first named storm of the year is heading this way. On the upside, I expect to see some awesome sunrises and sunsets before and after it's arrival. Storms add a little something extra to sky art.

// We're counting down to school ending next Friday! We're off on Monday then we have a full day and three half days. It's like waiting for Santa to come!

Happy Weekending
