Sea La Vie - 4/22
// Another week of marathon kid activities over and only three more weeks of kid activities four nights a week. This week we switched out a night of karate for the school's beach fun run, walking a mile on the beach is preferable to sitting in a 45-minute karate class where parents get in trouble if they talk to each other and made fun of if they look at their phones.
// Last weekend we hung out with Bama and visited the outlets because K needed new tennis shoes. Sometimes I wish I were a kid so I could get new shoes and clothes every 6 months or so. I did order myself a new tankini because it was on sale and when you live at the beach there's no such thing as too many bathing suits.
// K told me recently she was not going to stay the night with Bama unless I did too, honestly, this plan doesn't work for me at all. So this weekend if Bama doesn't have to work on Saturday I'm going to take K for an overnight stay. Give me all the mommy me time and give it to me now!
// Other things up on this weekend's agenda, a possible visit to Brookgreen Gardens, purchasing of dog flea collars for flea season, and filling my tractor supply trough flower beds with flowers. I decided to forgo veggie planting this year because I can't grow a vegetable to save my life. There is a new local Saturday farmer's market location though so I'll still have farm fresh veggies in abundance. If you can't grow local buy local.
Do you watch HGTV? Hey me too! Well, the show Love It or List It is being sued by a North Carolina couple who apparently didn't realize HGTV is really just a bunch of reality shows put on by production companies and not general contractors. Theses Lego instructions from the 1970's make me proud to be a parent of a Lego-loving kid, I'll gladly support companies like this by buying their products again and again. I often wish I had more patience so I could have been a teacher, who else gets summer off as an adult? Now I wish I had been a teacher so I could take Hawaii up on this offer. Finally, for all my Potterheads out there Buzzfeed is here to help you find out which pair of Hogwarts houses you belong to. I'm a Gryfinclaw and my sister is a Ravendore in case you were wondering.
Happy Weekending!

I think mine is fairly accurate: You got: Gryffinpuff
ReplyDeleteThis is a particularly rare house to end up in, but Gryffinpuffs always recognize one another because they have a tendency both to wear their hearts on their sleeve and to charge into action. You’re honest to a fault, but you’d be willing to lie if it meant helping a friend in need. You’re humble and prefer a quiet life if it’s at all possible, but your keen sense of justice means that you’re always ready to jump to someone’s defense if you think they’re being wronged.
Enjoy the mom time this weekend!
ReplyDeleteGeez karate class sounds intense for parents! And ooo I love farmers markets!!
ReplyDeleteI got Huffleclaw. That was an interesting article about Love it or List it. I hope you have a great weekend with your mom!
ReplyDeleteVery cool about the Lego instructions! I also don't understand the need for pink/purple legos because they are a universal toy. My little girl isn't into them...yet :). Have a great weekend. Hope you get me/mommy time!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you-- can't grow it locally (I have a black thumb, I swear) but at least we can buy locally. All our farmers markets are just opening up and it makes me SO happy! :)
ReplyDeletelol wtf with love it or list it being sued.. what the heck?!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the summer slowdown with cheerleading. Although I have figured out how to use her practice times to my advantage so that I don't feel like I'm wasting 5 hours of my week so it hasn't been as bad lately.
ReplyDeletekayla is staying over at my sister's house this weekend and i have to say is: FREEDOM!! LOL
ReplyDeleteI just read that Love It or List It article and oh my gosh, too funny!! I'm Canadian and I had no idea that the show got sued!
