Confessions and Random Thoughts
// It was in the 80's on Tuesday and I finally didn't freeze at the ball field! I feel like it was a warm winter and now it's been a cool spring. The weather lady says our 80-degree day was above normal but I've been looking at Facebook beach memories in the see your memories notification for at least two weeks now. Get it together spring!
// K calls my mom Bama because she couldn't say Grandma when she was little and the rest of us made sure Bama stuck because Grandma's are old ladies with white hair that bake cookies and my mom isn't any of those things. I made Bama a shirt that matches K's for T-ball that says Bama, unfortunately, the color of K's t-ball shirt is burgundy so every will probably just think Bama is cheering for Bama. Roll Tide!
// The local police pick up truck visited the neighbors while I was out front working in my metal flower beds last weekend. I took a picture to send to Tyson and then immediately wondered if I should put it in my monthly picture recap Beach Scenes. I try to show you my real life in pictures with those posts and the police visiting one of the neighbors is as real as it gets.
// My mom, my sister, and my aunt are all going to be in Europe for a week in May. They have all left me with wills and instructions about what to do if something should happen to them. I'm not a fan, one or two of them at a time is enough all of them is too much.
// I read some pages of Mr. Mercedes on Sunday and really enjoyed them, I haven't read any pages since. Some nights I don't even taste my dinner because I'm dong three other things while I'm trying to eat it. Being busy at work, homework, karate, t-ball, dinner, school events, lunch packing, and bath time has me going a little crazy. By the time Friday rolls around all I want to do for weekend fun is nothing. This is also the reason my blogging went from regular to irregular, there just aren't enough hours in the day for all the things I want to do.
// My least favorite job duty is conference calls, we don't do a ton of them but when we do I dread them until they are over. Most of the time I'm not an active participant and find it hard to stay an active listener for and hour plus.
Any random thoughts to go with your weekly confessions?

I like "Bama" :) It's fun/funny to hear how nicknames like that come about sometimes with kids. I'm not a fan of conference calls/webinars either... I lose focus easily in those things!
ReplyDeleteBama is cute. My mom doesn't want to be called grandma, either. My least favorite work duty used to be meetings but thankfully I am not involved anymore since I changed jobs. We used to have one at the beginning and end of work and I was so done by the end.
ReplyDeleteMy Gamma is Gamma because of a situation similar to Bama.
ReplyDeleteI would typically not put the police at my neighbor's house on my blog because it's mine, not theirs. If they did something TO me, sure. But the police being there, no. They have been at my neighbor's a crap ton of times as she's an addict and a thief and a lot of other things. Sometimes they've come because I've called them...but her kids didn't choose that and I know it kills her parents. We live in quite close quarters and it's hard sometimes but it's important to me that my neighbors respect my privacy and that requires me to respect theirs.
I love your family cheer section for Little K, it's so awesome!
ReplyDeletei hate conference calls. and i don't like to think about wills and such. that's so cool that K calls your mom bama. why were the police at your neighbours?! lol. i'm so nosy.
ReplyDeleteHahaha Bama is cute and there is nothing wrong if people though she were cheering on the Tide too. Roll Tide!! The police were in my neighborhood last week too. I think it was a drug raid of a car. Then there is this house on the corner that has an ambulance at it at least once a week or once every other week. I am always nosy and wondering what is going down.
ReplyDeleteI love when the police visit my neighbors. It gives me a reason to be nosy and proclaim it's in the name of safety.
ReplyDelete"Bama" is cute. My aunt goes by "Sassy" for the same reasons.
ReplyDeleteRegarding you being the keeper of the wills... I often say that I'm so grateful for my uber-responsible, ethical, conservative, financial guru of a brother. He takes care of ALL of that stuff. And, I wouldn't want it any other way.
Well, your family sure sounds prepared before their trip to Europe. Letting people know about will (which I still don't have) or leaving instructions is never on my list before I leave to go somewhere. I'm sure they'll be fine!
