Sea La Vie - 4/29

// Life wins this week. Work is crazy busy, our home schedule is crazy busy, and by the time I'm not busy I'm so tired from being busy I don't want to do anything else including blog or read. Next year I'll remember spring is the busy season at school and in extracurricular activities. That being said I've read no pages of any book, I have short spurts of time when I could squeeze a page or two in but that doesn't lend itself to really getting into a story.

// Last Saturday K and I used our Brookgreen Gardens Groupon, we took a picnic and spent the day exploring a small portion of the 9,100-acre former plantation. We both had a great time and to my surprise, K even loved looking at all the sculptures the garden has on display. If you're going to be in The Grand Strand area we highly recommend a day trip to Brookgreen Gardens, they have a little something for everyone.

// After our garden visit K went to stay the night with my mom and I got to enjoy some mommy time. I had a friend over for a movie on Saturday night and on Sunday after Tyson left for work I turned off all things electronic and just enjoyed being for a while. I could have read but decided I need some time to just be still before the chaos of the week returned.

// This weekend includes no rest for the weary as K and I will be walking in the local Relay for Life Saturday to honor our grandfather who died of cancer before K was born. Grandpa always enjoyed walking several miles daily after he retired so I can't think of a better way to honor his memory than to walk for him while raising money to help fight the horrible disease that took his life and touches so many.

Happy Weekending!

  7. I love that you were able to have a little "me" time and that your mom got time with K. Some of my fondest memories of my grandparents is the time I had them all to myself :)

  9. I love that photo. The gardens sound fun Sometimes I need time with no distractions, too. I call it time in my own head and usually get it while I walk the dog with no headphones on - just me and my thoughts and a nosy pup. It's good for me.
