First I'd suggest we make our way down to what's known locally as the point to watch sunrise. The point is located where the ocean meets an inlet, it's the perfect place to watch the sunrise and hunt for early morning shells. The early sheller gets the best shells.
Next maybe breakfast made by yours truly, I can't cook a lot of things but I can cook breakfast like nobody's business!
After breakfast I suggest a little relaxing on the beach, after all I know that's why you're really here. We'd head to my favorite beach access and find a place far away from the public walk way. We could tourist watch, book read, or even nap.

After a few hours on the beach I'd suggest a late lunch, probably a made to order deli sandwich from Publix. If you can find a better deli sandwich please tell me where.
Next up a trip to some shops with local flair, we might have to brave a few tourists but the experience is worth it.
For dinner there are options. A cool local seafood restaurant where we many have to wait for our food or a low country boil at home made by Tyson or yours truly. Good friends, good food, and good drinks without the wait.
Sunset would be spent marsh side at the local nature preserve checking out the beautiful scenery including a different view of the point and inlet.
To wrap our day we'd have ice cream on Main St., check out few more local shops, and maybe a few we'd catch a few shag dancers in action.
How we we spend the day if I were visiting you? Is there anything I left off this list you'd want to do while at the beach?

our beaches suck ass so i'd only take you there to mock it, then we'd leave and really tour the city - downtown toronto, all the great food, the fun night life. we could do touristy things like look at the CN tower but i'd for sure take you to canada's wonderland and if you were here now, the CNE which is a huge carnival/fair that runs from now until school starts and usually marks the end of summer for everyone in toronto.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good trip!
ReplyDeleteI have conducted many a Philadelphia sites tour. I always include the Wanamaker organ, LOVE Park, and cheese steaks.
Sounds fun! I'll be in the Outer Banks this weekend and I'm sooo looking forward to some beach relaxation. Delaware's not terribly exciting. I'd probably drag you to Fort Delaware and other historical stuff, because that's really all we have to boast of.
ReplyDeleteAhhh sign me up for a trip of fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf you came to Birmingham, I would take you to all my favorite places to eat so be sure to leave your diet at home and just bring your appetite for all the bad things! We would have to do a brewery tour, and I would take you to see Vulcan. He watches over our city and has amazing views. We could walk around Railroad Park, check out some of the cool boutique shops we have around here. Grab a cupcake at Dreamcakes or a fried oreo at Jack Brown's...your choice. Then we would head down to the light tunnels because everyone that comes through Birmingham has to check out the light tunnels at night!
That sounds like a fabulous trip! Parking my butt on a beach is a good day. I have this amazing breakfast place in my town I would take everyone who comes. It is a diner and everything is so good.
ReplyDeleteYou're damn right I came for the beach! ;) Although I like how food is mentioned a lot, too!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds a relaxing and fulfilling visit! I love seeing local attractions when I can. I hate crowds ;).
ReplyDeleteIf you visited DC, you'd have to see the monuments even though they're tourist-y. But there's lots of local things like farmer's markets, picking your own fruit, and local restaurants that are yummy.
I agree with Jenn that Delaware really isn't that exciting but I'd take you to our beaches which happen to be near tax free outlet shopping and not too far from the Dogfish Head Brewery (free samples!).
ReplyDeleteIf you're ever in Garden City try Gershwin's Deli. They are amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteum... if you came to visit me, we'd spend the day.. driving somewhere else! ;) lol. unless you came in May, then we'd go to the Derby!
