Confess This
// I don't really like breakfast food, it's okay sometimes but more often than not it's too heavy for me. I prefer to eat a nice grilled chicken salad for breakfast with a little ranch dressing. I feel so much better when I choose this breakfast over other options.
// This weird Twitter account Summer Erickson keeps favoriting my Tweets. Sage Erickson is a famous surfer but who the hell is Summer Erickson? A catfish'er with 29,200 followers?!?
// I was judging all the parents at this weekend's Easter egg hunts that were going after "the good stuff" and cramming it into their child's baskets for them. I could only think a) you're going to be getting rid of that shit in 6 months it's not really that great and b) have some fucking dignity and stop being greedy. Then I saw Monday that the parents at my egg hunts weren't the only one's participating in egg hunt assholery, apparently this is a common occurrence across out great nation.
// Getting at 6:30 AM for school feels early and unnecessary, getting up at 6:30 AM to walk the dogs when everyone else is off and asleep feels like a special relaxing treat.
// I'm ready to reclaim my house from house guests, this includes sending my kid back to her own bed where she can't run her toes across the bottoms of my feet all night.
// I know charities and thrift stores don't want Fifty Shades of Grey books but I have a growing girl and I don't want the Fifty Shade books or The Twilight books to be among her at home reading options so off to be traded in they go.
// I want to have a long quiet reading weekend but that probably won't happen for another 10 years or so.
What are you confessing this week?

I don't really like breakfast food either. I agree - it's way too heavy for me in the mornings.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I love how you lumped Twilight in with 50 Shades. I also love all breakfast foods. The idea of eating salad for breakfast makes me cringe in horror. Though, truth be told, some of my breakfast smoothies have about as much vegetable content as a salad anyway, but they taste sweeter. :P
ReplyDeleteI like eggs. I don't really eat pancakes or french toast or the heavy things.
ReplyDeleteI do really like savory not breakfast foods for breakfast too though. I'll definitely eat chicken salad or tuna on toast.
Oh man, I love breakfast foods- although I really don't have it too often. I keep breakfast simple with granola or fruit but love to indulge in the rare chocolate chip pancakes ;) I would love a reading weekend- that sounds so great!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe all the crazy parents at egg hunts either, it's not that serious people! One time we went to an adult egg hunt a few years ago and I vow to never do that again! Some b*tch shoved me down to get an egg I was trying to get and I ruined my cute heart Toms plus scraped my hand. Never again.
ReplyDeleteseriously adults are worse than kids with things like that. we go visit KC's family in illinois for july 4th and the little town has a big parade, and every year we have to yell at parents who are grabbing candy etc for their kids, and not letting other kids get any, because the parents and their kids are taking everything-if that makes sense. it's so infuriating.
ReplyDeleteI only like breakfast food on the weekends and even then I am picky about what and when I will eat it. I have to be up for a good hour or two usually before I can eat. Coffee though? That stuff gets made before my eyes have time to adjust to the light! Hahahahahah I don't blame you on not having 50 Shades sitting around your house.
ReplyDeleteHere's what I hate about twitter. I don't go there enough. So, I don't see your tweets.
ReplyDeleteWhy doesn't a thrift store want 50 Shades? They can make money off of that book just as much as any other.
I want a weekend of reading and solitude. I don't think that's going to happen for me either.
I'm glad I skipped the public egg hunts!
ReplyDeleteI don't like breakfast foods for breakfast either! I eat salads a lot, or peppers and hummus or something like that. Although every once in a while a nice plate of eggs and bacon is a fun weekend treat! :)
