Sea La Vie - 2/26
// After Lego Kidsfest on Friday night, we spent the night with my mom. Saturday I had lunch with one of my friends from high school. It's always nice to catch up with old friends especially ones who knew you back when.
// Monday night Little K got to show the class her very excellent leg cock and side kick in karate. It's amazing to see her motor skill improve as she gets older.
// Tuesday night was the monthly Pajamarama story time at the library. I get to go to the library in my PJ's and read a book or visit with friends while someone else entertains my kid for an hour. Best night of the month by far.
// Wednesday they canceled school for a storm that was going to produce high winds and possible tornadoes, they just wanted the kids to be safe. I'm pretty sure the school they use as a hurricane shelter is safer than the mobile home my kid and more than half the other kids in this county live in. The storm never showed and my kid got to stay in her PJ's all day instead of learning something useful at school.
// I'm still reading The Night Circus, I've been reading it for what feels like forever. It took me a while to get into it, then it took me a while to figure out what was going on, and now I'm just looking for time to finish it. It would help if the movement of my office chair wasn't making me feel slightly motion sick when I read lately. Next up two more challenge books then I'll tackle the to read pile my mom and aunt have kindly given me.
Someone in China needs to talk to someone in the US about making this menstrual leave a thing here. One of K's Lego sets from the Kidsfest was a garbage truck, she said, "ewww I'll never be a garbage man". I said don't laugh they make more money than most people do, and this proves I wasn't making that up. It's always interesting to see what people in other countries and from other cultures think is the ideal body. The Book Apothecary will choose a book based on your mood, not sure how many combinations there are but it sure was fun to try a few.
Happy Weekending!

I love the idea of lounging in the library in my pajamas!
ReplyDeletePJ night at the library sounds like a great time!!
ReplyDeleteThe ideal body series are always interesting, but I kind of feel like they're not as informative as they seem, because it's just a bunch of random Photoshoppers. Some are better than others and some try to Photoshop his actual body, while others just say, "Fuck it!" and Photoshop someone else's body onto his.
ReplyDeleteWatching kids change as they grow is so awesome! I love watching my goddaughter get smarter and more perceptive, but the motor skills are fun, too. I remember the first time she grabbed my hands, walked up my body and flipped over - I was completely blown away. Apparently her uncle had taught her to do it, but it was new to me and there was definitely a "Holy shit, what are you doing?!" moment before I realized she wasn't going to fall.
I want to go to Pajamarama!!!! I saw Little K's karate moves on snapchat. Impressive!
