Coversations with Myself - NaNoWriMo Edition
Hello from the other side (in my Adele voice). In case you missed it I'm participating in NaNoWriMo (check out my cool word count widget on the sidebar to see how I'm doing) for the first time, here are a few random thoughts I've had about the process.
// All these people offering words of encouragement get a mention in my acknowledgements if I ever get published.
// I don't know how to start today, what word comes first. It doesn't matter you can improve it later just pick a damn word.
// Is it time to turn on my computer yet I know exactly what to write this morning.
// Someone should make a shower whiteboard for ideas that pop up while you're washing your hair.
// Maybe I shouldn't listen to music I'm doing more singing than writing today.
// What did I name that random character we'll never meet in the story outside of someone's thoughts?
// This is direction is way better than my pre-planned direction, screw my outline.
// I don't want to write today, where did my motivation go?
// I wonder how Jenn is doing with her word count today. Oh look the site says she wrote some words last night, go Jenn!
// I love this word tracker and graph why doesn't it work beyond November?
// Weekend writing shouldn't be a thing, I can't think about a story with two dogs, a man, a kid, and the TV blaring football.
// Look if I stay on pace I'll finish early, go me go.
// Maybe I shouldn't have agreed to NaNoWriMo in my life, maybe writing without the pressure is easier.
// I'm kicking NaNoWriMo ass bitches!
Are or have you attempting NaNoWritMo? What were some of your thoughts?

Love that you are participating in this too! I had just visited Jenn's blog and read about her story line. Both of you are going to kick ass this month and I cant wait to read your books when they get published! And we sooooooo need a shower white board! All my best ideas pop up when I am in the shower or cutting grass. Sounds like a million dollar idea to me!
ReplyDeleteThis isn't my bag. I don't do well with projects like this... or any expectations like this to be honest, lol I wouldn't even agree to doing bowling every other weekend because the thought of HAVING to be somewhere every other weekend turned me off. lol
ReplyDeleteUse kids' bath crayons for those amazing ideas :). Awesome you're taking this challenge.
ReplyDeleteI deal with deadlines all day so I couldn't hang with that challenge. Go kick it's butt though!!
ReplyDeleteThere's a shower notepad! I've lost track of a couple of character's names already. My main character has flipped back and forth between Matt and Mike a few times, and his friend went from Liam to Bryan. The word tracker is awesome! I'm a little behind, but that's ok. I specifically refused to make plans this weekend so I could catch up, and hopefully, get ahead. :D
ReplyDeleteshower whiteboard!!! hahahaha hilarious. i lol'd so hard at pick a damn word.
