Sea La Vie - 9/16
Beach Things - Sunday we spent the morning hanging out with Bama at a local park that has hiking trails and piers leading over the marsh and onto some of the island in the inter-coastal waterway. Monday morning after dropping Little K off at school I decided to hang out on a beach access bench and enjoy some solitude to start my week. Wednesday at lunch I cleaned the access, it's been really nice with low humidity and cooler temperatures this week and with most of the tourists gone the beach access wasn't such a huge mess.
Kelli Things - I don't have anything special to report but I do want to say I have really been making the most of and enjoying the couple of hours I have to myself that are not dedicated to work while K has been in school. Trips to the library and the store take a lot less time when you don't have to drag a kid along and as a bonus I can turn the radio in the car up as loud as I want because I won't be hurting anyone's ears but my own.
Book Things - I finished Artemis Fowl and really enjoyed it, while not Harry Potter it was a good story that kept me interested. I started The Cuckoo's Calling and am really enjoying it but I've been finding it hard to stay awake while reading lately though so my books are taking longer than usual to get through. I've tried reading at different times of day but after a chapter and a half my eyes get droopy every time. I'm blaming you fall like weather and shorter days for making me want to hibernate.
Free Stuff Things - If you are willing to talk like a pirate tomorrow Krispy Kreme is willing to give you a dozen free donuts. I took Little K to this event last year and she loved not only the free donuts but watching them being made while we were in the donut store. I've already got her pirate gear ready and we'll be claiming our free donuts will you?
Who doesn't love a good souvenir? Well here is a list of the best souvenir from each state just in case you'll be traveling and are in need of a cool souvenir. We all love Goodreads but are you making the most of it? Here is a handy list from Bookriot about 11 fun things you can do with Goodreads to make it more fun to use. I love this article about 15 types of friends you have or have had by middle age, I can pick a lot of my friends and myself out from this list. Finally this post is why I occasionally talk my own Instagram feed, to make myself feel happier and remember little moments might have forgotten.
Happy Weekending!

I did NOT know that you could get free Krispy Kreme donuts for talking like a pirate. How cool!
ReplyDeleteSo cute you'll be going to pirate day at Krispy Kreme! And tks for sharing the articles on best souvenirs and Goodreads! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI go back in my own Facebook photos all the time! Even just 2 or 3 years ago there's tons of little details I've forgotten all about. Oh! And I was trying to scrapbook and could not remember what year Ryan and I started dating or when we first got Luke. So Facebook filled me in.
ReplyDeleteTalk like a pirate day sounds awesome! I've heard of the day, but never actually seen or heard anyone do it. Plus free donuts? Win-win. I don't have a diet buddy, but I do have a gluttony buddy! And a couple of the others, but really 15 types? I probably haven't even had 15 friends since high school. Working on that.
I wish we had Krispy Kreme around here I would talk like a pirate! Argh!
ReplyDeleteYAY for blasting the music! Aaaand you can listen to whatever music you want!
ReplyDeleteOh man I can't believe I missed the talking like a pirate offer! I will do anything for some free donuts! :)
ReplyDeleteYou always have the best links to read! The only thing I don't like about the souvenirs is a lot of them are food. While I love trying food from other places...I always want a keepsake that I can actually keep too. I am greedy like that!
