Okay so we all know confession day is Wednesday but we all also know I'm a rebel and rule breaker so I'm doing things my way today.
// I secretly want access to the elementary school library so I can see what books they have for K and myself.
// The school had a total stranger listed as K's emergency contact on the information sheet I received on Friday afternoon. Monday morning at 7 AM I was at the front desk dressed all in black with my skulls on to make sure that shit was right. Nice mom showed up on open house night, badass mom showed up on a rainy Monday. It took a lot less time than I imagined it would, at least badass mom didn't have to put her badassery to use.
// I did nothing last weekend and it was LOVELY, most of my time was spent lounging in the chair or lying in bed.
// I talked myself out of rereading Harry Potter this weekend but I might still do it anyway. Do you ever long for the comfort of a book you know you'll love anytime you read it?
// I have never seen the movie The Princess Diary's and have never read the book. I had never even heard of it until I joined blogland. The book is waiting for me to pick up at the library so we'll see if it's worth the hype.

i think she's waking earlier because she's just so excited and this is a new thing for her routine. give it a few weeks for her to settle and i bet she'll resume waking at her usual time. kayla does that as well - i know for a few weeks after school starts, she'll be waking later but she knows to stay in her room until 7am.

Umm you haven't seen The Princess Diary??? To be honest, it is quite a bit cheesy but fabulous none the less. I love that you are getting Little K in to reading!! My mom instilled it in my sister and I at a very young age that reading was important and a lifetime hobby. We might not have gotten all the toys and other stuff we asked for, but my mom NEVER said no to a book! She always said "books are never a waste of money." And she still says that today and is constantly shoving book store gift cards at my nephew :)

ReplyDeleteI would love to check out their libraries too. I have to really be in the mood for non-fiction which is almost never. The overly staged photos annoy me too. Life is not like that and who has the time.

I didn't know about The Princess Diary, the book. Saw the movie though. Very cute! Glad you got that emergency contact straightened out. Glad good mom could stick around ;).

ReplyDeleteI agree with Kathy. Erica's been getting up on time for school when over the summer, I couldn't get her out of bed before 9. It's the excitement. It'll wear off.
