Sea La Vie - 7/31

Family Things - We had a summertime family date night, very rare when one member of your household's job depends mostly on the summertime tourist industry. We took Little K to The OD Pavilion where she rode rides and played arcade games. We finished up with a trip to the candy store for some dark chocolate turtles and a scoop of chocolate ice cream for K.

Kelli Things - I have pink hair and I LOVE it, it's  like my hair has always wanted to be pink and I just didn't know it. (If you want to see my pink hair you should be following me on Instagram). This week Steph let me tell her readers all about some of my favorite things, go check it out. Yesterday I went to have an abdominal ultra sound, I had to drink 32 oz of water an hour before the test and then not pee. I have never been so thankful not to pee my pants although a almost sneeze made me very afraid for a few moments on the way there.

Kid Things - I took Little K to play at her school playground last weekend, I figure she could at least get familiar with the playground since she'll be playing there every day. Isn't the playground where most school memories are made? I can't help but think that I'm sending her off to find her life long friends and I hope she chooses well. Good friends make life awesome. Also this week in Little K news swim class is back! Another little girl signed up for this session so the two of them are getting some very hands on teaching.

Beach Things - It's still exceptionally hot here for the summer, there have been a whopping 3 tropical storms in the Atlantic and I'm wondering what the hell is going on? I love summer and I don't mind hot but days, weeks, and months of feel like temps between 103 and 110 is a little much even for this part of the south. It's suppose to storm this weekend and I'm actually looking forward to it even if there are no beach things next week. Although I hope it holds off just long enough for blue moon watching and picture taking!

I found this literary calendar this week and immediately checked my birth date for the bookish event highlighted, I was a little underwhelmed but maybe you won't be. It's no secret that TONS of people stage their IG photos, this look at reality versus Instagram cracked me up and I'm thinking it's so true. This little boy is a true inspiration and if I could I give him a million smiles I would. The resilience and creativity of kids never ceases to amaze me.

Have a great weekend!

  4. Your pink hair is awesome!!! I long for the day I'm out of 'corporate' world and can do something like that- I've always wanted to!! Although, my hair is so dark it might be difficult. Edgar Allen Poe published his first detective story on my birthday, so that's kinda cool!
