Sea La Vie - 7/24

Beach Things - Saturday and Sunday were both early beach days, it's to hot to get there late. A locals beach tip: the day everyone checks out of/into their weekly rentals is the best beach day. Not crowds and lots of prime parking. Walked on the pier Monday night because Little K wanted to see if it glowed. Left the pier for a three minute walk on the beach to check out sand art seen from pier. Someone stole my fucking flip flops!

Home Things - On Friday night after they closed my favorite local vintage store posted pictures of a pair of cute but in rough shape tables for $10 a piece. I was up early on Saturday and waiting for them to open and now those tables are mine. If it would stop being so hot I could paint them. I also purchased a stencil so I can burn a compass rose into my new wooden step table before re-finishing it. Pictures of all things to come.

Kid Things - We went to a birthday party again this week, no hardship for me since I got to hang out with all my local friends! Summer has been hard on play dates what with work and travel so it was nice to see everyone.

Book Things - I finished two of my 14 day books last weekend, well actually I stopped reading one instead of finishing it. I also stopped reading a regular check out this week. Life is to short and my to read list to long for shitty books. Found a cute lighthouse magnetic book a library book, I assume to replace the sugar skull one I left in a returned book about a month ago. What goes around comes around.

Kelli Things - I want to dye my hair pink and now that I work from home nothing is stopping me. So I think this weekend after beach time I have a date with pink hair dye. Bought new Rainbow flip flops on Wednesday which I will not be wearing to the beach. Sunrise walks will be ending soon since school is starting, I'm working on a new morning routine to help beat the no sunrise blues.

Are you a fan of off grid living and the tiny home movement? This little egg might be just what you need. After working from home and talking about it I know that almost everyone dreams of a job they can do in their PJ's, well here is an article that can put you on the path to an every day pajama party. Have you checked the swear word map yet? I'm glad I live in the south where apparently swearing is a thing for everyone. This article explains exactly why I chose to keep my unplanned child, it was never because I didn't have a choice. If you read beachy soup you know I consider myself an agnostic, I almost shared this article of 5 things we want you to know on social media but I think this is a better platform.

Have a great weekend!

  1. WHO STEALS A STRANGER'S FLIP FLOPS? I'm sure your shoes were in perfect condition and this is to say nothing about your feet, but ew. Like if your sister came to town and stole them, that makes sense. Not some random person on the beach. What is wrong with people? I want to see your table makeovers, especially this burning that you speak of!

  2. I've had two friends lose flip flops this year! So weird! And I mean they're gross flip flops (well the ones I wear to the beach are ;)), are they really worth stealing?

  4. ooo ooo post a photo of you with the pink hair, I cannot wait to see!
The flip flop thing just grosses me out. I mean, rude yes. But also... my own flip flops are freaking nasty, as are most other people's shoes I've seen. I would never touch someone else's shoes - ew. So much ew. But steal them and wear them?! I just can't.

  7. The article about being agnostic was really interesting. I never thought of it was being "peaceful" but I guess the people I know who are the most upset about religion are the ones who want to believe in something and can't quite convince themselves that it's real. Being open minded does seem pretty freeing.

Someone stole your flip flops? Wtf?! Pink hair sounds really fun. I hope you show us!
