I have a confession to make, I miss Just Beachy. Not just the blog but my Twitter and IG accounts too, I miss having a valid blogland presence and I miss my " brand". I still don't want my last name to be associated with my blog all over the internet but I want my "brand" back in some way.
Now that my "brand" took a permanent vacation I've got two Twitter accounts, two IG accounts, a new gmail address, and this half assed blog. I'm not sure where I go from here to get back to my beach brand but I know that ever since Just Beachy went away I've been drifting in a sea of unknown. I want to focus on my photography but I also want to share my lifestyle type blog things too.
The name Kellibeans fits me but it doesn't fit the brand I had built and loved, I don't want to change it again but I don't want to keep it either. I've always been annoyed by the bloggers who constantly float along changing names looking for an identity yet somehow I've become one of them.
So here I am blogland asking your advice, how do I get back to the brand and the blogger I was before past life collided with present life and it all had to be deleted?
Kelli

oh man. If you resurrect all the old accounts though, will the same problems crop up? I'd say make sure you can avoid that, then go with the name you like more! I'll follow you whichever you choose :)
ReplyDeleteWhat about a combination of the two?
ReplyDeleteI had no idea you were blogging again! How did I miss this? Yay! Not that I blog anymore but, whatever.
ReplyDeleteSo frustrating. I wish we could block people. I'd have a hard time managing two accounts on each and just wouldn't.
ReplyDeleteI'm terrible at naming things but what about something like "Kelli's Beach" or anything along those lines? You can have your primary topic areas--photography, beach life, reading, and parenting. Then you can talk about what you want, it's still personal and branded the way you want but less identifying than before.
ReplyDeleteI think you'll come to it with time. Hopefully if you hop back onto the old name, you can make a decision shortly after. A combo of the 2 is good option too. Good luck! It'll come to you, in time!
ReplyDeleteI say give it some time. I agree that if the old problems are going to resurface with the old accounts, you should avoid that. If you can combine the two, go for it. But personally, I'd take the time to think about it. Maybe write out a "plan" or a (and I hate this phrase) "mission statement" as far as what you want for your blog and where you want it to go. It might help bring it all together.
