// I finished two books! That's the biggest news of the week in my world, after not reading for over a month I picked up a couple of fun easy no thought needed books and thoroughly enjoyed them. Since T-Ball is over on Thursday I've even put books on hold at the library again. Oh, bring me all the books!
// I took two Monday's in a row off this month, my birthday because I never work on my birthday if I can help it and field day. As long as I'm not participating in field day it should be fun, being outside in the sun sure beats sitting at my desk all Monday long. Please give me all the Monday's off forever!
// We walked in the local Relay For Life last weekend and it was the perfect day for walking. Warm but not sunny with a nice breeze blowing off the ocean to keep us cool. K dunked her PE teacher in the dunk booth so her Saturday was made.
// I used to love living in Charlotte and felt then that NC was a progressive state, now I'm just glad my kid does not go to school in a state that could lose federal educational funding over an unnecessary and discriminatory bathroom policy. I sure hope my local school system who is having their own bathroom controversy pays attention because discrimination in the name of religious freedom is NOT okay.
// My sister gave me my birthday present early via Facebook this week, tickets to see the Dixie Chicks in Raleigh on August 13th. I'm going to see the Dixie Chicks with my sister for the 4th time and I could NOT be any more excited. Now fingers crossed the NC bathroom law doesn't interfere with my awesome gift. Get your shit together North Carolina, GET. IT. TOGETHER!

Twitter trolls harassed Old Navy this week for an interracial ad, but interracial families trolled the trolls back for the win.

ReplyDeleteYes to all the Mondays off! I took last Friday off, half of today, and am contemplating next Friday as well. And this whole bathroom law business is cuh-razy! My husband was like "did you know Target is going to let transgender males in the women's bathroom?" And I'm like "Can't any pervert dress up as a woman and video tape women in the bathroom because it has already been done??" I told him he could stop going to Target and/or using their bathrooms but I'm sure as not going to stop going there.
ReplyDeleteThe Old Navy thing was insane. Like I thought the trolls were kidding because it's 2016 and I had no idea that interracial marriage had some weird, nasty name. Where is this insane segment of America, because I would like to stay far from them. We are talking about trying to do 9/80s at work which would be awesome and I would definitely want to be off on Mondays instead of Fridays. Everyone is happy on Friday - on Monday, everyone is grumpy. I would love to miss that!
