Beach Things - We cleaned up our beach access, took a stroll around the local nature preserve, and watched the sunset over the marsh. The rest of the week brought evening storms which were a nice change from the constant feels like 100 we've been dealing with for weeks so I was happy to spend the evenings in my big chair.
Book Things - I now have 4 books from my library wait list in my house, 3 of them must be read and returned in 14 days. Plus my summer to read pile is only 2 books smaller. Why are you pressuring me with books library?? Also I'm late mentioning this because I was such a space cadet last week after the 4th but I did an interview with Jana about all things bookworm related so you should go read it.
Blog Things - My 40x40 list has been changed thanks to this post by Michael, I was feeling all the pressure and none of the fun. So it's now Life To Do's, the great thing about Life To Do's is I'm not limited to 40! I've also decided that I'm finally in love with Kellibeans as my blog name, it's just all about branding. Kellibeans gives me room to grow and change into whatever the future may hold.
Kid Things - I registered Little K for school in April. August 3rd I still have to go to registration day to find out who her assigned teacher is and meet PTA people. I'm not sure I'm PTA material. Than I get to go back on the 18th for Drop In and Meet and Greet which I assume means open house. Since I'm OCD I've inventoried Little K's school clothes and have made a list of what we still need before school starts. I've also purchased almost all the school supplies she needs too, screw fighting with other parents for them on tax free weekend or right before school starts to save money. I'll spend the extra $10 avoid having to spend bail money when I throat punch a pushy back to school parent over a box of crayons.
Kelli Things - Since Little K is starting school I bought myself a cute little planner at Walmart for $6, It's a Studio C planner that has cute little sayings before each month like, "On the road trip of life always follow your heart (but make sure your brain rides shotgun)". I also bought a new Essie nail polish for my toes, Haute in the Heat, because so appropriate this summer. Last I spray painted some old black dollar store frames aqua and hung them in my bathroom to hold a few Kelli original beach prints.
I like happy things especially pictures so I followed several IG accounts off this list. Read "The Girl On The Train"? Here are 13 facts you might not have known about it. Self love and self confidence are import so put on that bathing suit! As a beach dweller I can promise you as long as it covers your lady parts nobody will care what you look like. Speaking of beach swelling, my hair was a horrible dry mess after last years beach season. I found these protection recommendations and thought I should share.
Have a great weekend!

I love that photo! Also, sounds like things are going very well for you right now. My book pile keeps getting bigger- no matter how much I read...I can't seem to make it smaller! lol
ReplyDeletethe library is a fickle thing. it'll be radio silence for weeks or months as you wait for your books to come or they'll all come at once and you have to read like 5 or 6 of them within 2-3wks wtf. why can't it be a healthy balance??
ReplyDeleteHurrah for Kellibeans branding!
ReplyDeleteI have four new books from the library and one is a freaking behemoth. And I started reading the newest Harper Lee, which I should put aside to put the library books ahead, but I won't.
Oh my, going to school?? I have two nephews and a niece starting kindergarten this year. Amazing how fast the time goes! I think I would be spending more on school supplies on the early side too. I hate tax free weekend and wont go anywhere because people are crazy. Which is odd considering I love Black Friday so much...isn't it??? Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like your blog name! Woo hoo!!! And seriously, why such tight restrictions on library books? At least a month is a good time. Thanks for reminding me that it's ok to put on a bathing suit at the beach since no one really cares that much.
ReplyDeleteI always get stressed when they all come in at once, but then it's a good excuse to read all day! ;) I can't believe back to school activities have already started.
ReplyDeleteHaha- I can just picture the craziness of back-to-school shopping, glad you avoided the chaos and did it early :) And thanks for linking to those IG accounts, I'm following most of them now!
ReplyDeleteI googled that Essie color and may now have to go find it this weekend! I'm normally against Essie prices but it's so pretty. I love your organization style and totally agree that tax free just isn't worth it.
ReplyDeletei need a beach life update!! just that top pic alone is making me relax. i need to check out the links you shared. i think i'm the last one who hasn't read Girl...Train. On the list though. happy monday :)))
ReplyDeletetotally agree, as long as you cover certain areas literally no one looks at you at the beach or pool. no one cares about anyone else lol. super interesting facts about the girl on the train!
