Sea La Vie - 3/9

// No house for us but you know what that's okay. I still live 5 minutes from the ocean. It's all about being grateful for what you already have instead of being sad you didn't get what you wanted.

// I made things spring like around by adding a little green to this web space because spring!

// It's been 3 years this month since I went to work in a real office, to celebrate I gave away all my work pants. Who needs pants?

// Made a hair appointment for next Tuesday with a real stylist at a real salon, no hoping Great Clips doesn't butcher my do!

// Finished my final book for Erin's book challenge, yayyy me!I've moved on to The Flood girls, with Tyson finally back at work lots of nights I will have plenty of turn of the TV and read time.

// Speaking of Tyson back at work lots of nights, I know they say the season doesn't officially start until Memorial Day but the spring breakers are here and they might be the worst kind of tourists. Drunk and definitely not G-rated or family appropriate, I'd rather have the bikers.

// Up this weekend talking to a tattoo artist and making a tattoo appointment. I was going to tattoo me for my birthday BUT it will be beach time by then and I don't want to sun/sand/salt my new tattoo so I'm getting myself an early birthday present!

One of the shows I like to watch on HGTV is Fixer Upper, I want these people to work outside of Waco and come make me a cool beach house. Well, I did, then I found out you don't get to keep the decor, what!? Chick-fil-A is so good and now it's even better because you can get a free ice cream just for not using your phone at dinner, I love this idea! I found the map in this article about The State of Gender Inequality Around The Globe fascinating, the United States needs to do better than in the middle. By now we've all heard Samuel L. Jackson read us Go The Fuck To Sleep but have you heard Jennifer Garner read it? You should, she gets the tone just right.

  1. Myrtle Beach living...you are so lucky to live in such a beautiful town! It's my favorite vacation spot that we will be visiting in July. I know what you mean about spring breakers, we have senior week at our local beaches and I try to stay far away from that!

  2. So envious of your work from home gig. I'd LOVE to get rid of all the work pants hanging in my closet!! ;) Ugh- good luck with Spring Breakers. I'm glad our vacation is just before the Spring Break madness hits bc I don't want to be around those tourists either!!

  3. Kudos on saying goodbye to work pants!

I'm really annoyed they can't keep the decor on Fixer Upper.

  4. Point #1 - yes, yes, yes. It is SO HARD to keep that perspective sometimes. Last night I was crabby about work and life and then I looked around my house and remembered that work is what got it for me - a space that's finally mine and has personality that I got to pick. My life really isn't that bad.

Yay for hair changes! Always so fun but a little stressful. And LOL to work pants, I don't have to wear them for my short week next week bc of spring break and it's like it's Christmas. So jealous you never have to bother with them!

  6. Yea, I'd rather have bikers than spring breakers as well! I KNEW all that decor was just for staging! Though I hope the owners get to keep the special-order pieces that she has made from that carpenter friend.

  7. I would totally give away my work pants too!! Pants are awful! Ummmmm I had no clue that you don't actually get to keep all the furniture on Fixer Upper!!!! That is crazy. I mean I guess it is cool your house was made over regardless but like I want everything I see!!! Guess it is a way for them to get extra money because who wants to say..take it all away. I mean come on lol.
